18:30 Deep Neural Networks: Going 0 to 100 with TensorFlow by Jason Schvach

The task of implementing TensorFlow can be daunting. You must start somewhere – but once you start, it is hard to stop. He will be sharing his journey of going from a beginner of neural networks, to using it to create a linear regression model for predicting NFL athletes’ weekly FanDuel points. This eventually lead into exploring TensorFlow further, in attempt to customize real-time object-detection, as well as why some people may think he starred in a movie with Robert De Niro.

Jason Schvach has worked in education in the Chicago land area for over 12 years before beginning a career change into Data Science. He received a BA degree in Secondary Education in Mathematics from Concordia University Chicago and is a recent graduand from the MSc Data Science program at the University of Dundee in Scotland. To learn more about machine learning and deep learning neural networks, he set forth on his MSc project of “Using Deep Learning Neural Networks for Predictive Analytics of Weekly NFL Player Performance”.
